HEDCON

A Social Advocacy and Technical Assistance Organization

HEDCON is a technical support and social advocacy organization working in Rajasthan, India since 1998 to influence, sensitize, capacitate, and support other grass root initiatives and institutions. In 1998, eight NGOs decided to combine their knowledge and experience to set up a body that would be able to support research, documentation and advocacy on common social development issues. The vital need to both generate knowledge and create awareness in order to facilitate activities was the sole purpose for the formation of HEDCON in 1999.

WHAT WE FOCUS AT

HEDCON’s main focus is on two issues that are of great importance to the people at large; environmental management and human rights. Hence, we have become a center of expertise on these topics. Focusing on this has also involved working on disaster management and waste management, education, empowerment of women and the elderly, HIV/AIDS, health promotion, food security, agriculture policy and women and child labor.
